Beware of Scammers on 247 Salvage!

Fraudsters posting car adverts on 247 Salvage have come up with a new way to scam money off unsuspecting bargain hunters. They list top of the range cars for ridiculously cheap prices such as this 04 Reg Audi S4 which is being advertised as damaged repaired and the fraudster is asking £2500 for when the cheapest damaged S4 I’ve ever come across was about £7500 and they are still worth about £15000 on the road.

When you enquire about the car the phone number provided doesn’t work so you have to send an email which he then replies to saying he’s abroad and you’ll need to send him a deposit. Once you send the deposit that’s your money gone and you won’t be able to complain as you gave him the money freely. That’s not to say that all cars on the 247 Salvage website are scams this Alfa Romeo GTV  from ‘Minor Salvage’ and other similar companies are kosher.
There are also similar scams on the Auto Trader website where you’ll see people advertising expensive cars for ridiculously cheap prices.

Remember the saying – If it looks too good to be true then it probably is!

I was trying to buy this ML280 from the same guy but I later went on e-bay and seen the same SUV on there for £16000, good thing I didnt send him my money.

I have been trying to buy a Renault Clio Ref: 1228, Damaged Repaired, Listed at £1450 from a guy called Chris, Mobile phone [removed] to no avail as the mobile number is not working and I have written emails with my full offer but no reply. The price of the vehicle makes me believe that this is a scam and also the phone number which is not working. I was convinced that this is a genuine sale believing in 24/7 Salvage’s reputation. I was wrong. Thanks for the alert. Did not send money

Tried to buy a Mercedes C & E Class and found the same cheap car at £8,200 with the mobile number incorrect and e-mai received from gut abroad in the EU! Later on I found the actual car, same photos for £18,999 and again at £12,995! Car appearance seemed to have been changed by computer and nobody is doing anything to stop these Guys getting on line.

Even when I phoned one of the Websites, they said they would remove it but it is still ON LINE!

No car e-mail purchases for me and I will go around the Car Fronts to see, feel and touch what I am buying!
